Bowed screen designs are growing in popularity
Bowed screens have all the clean lines of a single panel screen with the added convenience of not having to be moved to tend to the fire. They look great fronting an arched fireplace opening provided they allow the arch to peak out above the top of the screen. A bowed screen can be placed in front of an unvented or direct vent fireplace to help protect against a serious burn from casual contact with the hot glass that fronts these type fireplaces.
